Endicott (WBNG) – After the 2020 Christmas Day flood, the Enjoie Golf Course was covered in ice, silt and debris by the Susquehanna River and Nanticoke Creek. All but two holes were hit in one way or another.

During the winter months, the golf course ground crew works to remove everything from the playing surfaces in order to be ready for the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open.

There is still a lot to do from Wednesday. Even though the playing surface is being cleaned, the wagon paths are still coated with silt, resulting in dusty conditions. There are also numerous retaining walls and flower beds that were damaged in the flood.

Anthony Chapman, the golf course’s superintendent, says the course will be ready seventy-four days before the tournament starts when the pros arrive in town. He tells 12 News that he knows how much the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open means to the community and that he wants to showcase a pristine golf course when Endicott is in the spotlight.
