Dick’s Sporting Items Open Celebrates With Free Household Enjoyable Evening

The Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, which had to be canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, returns to Endicott, New York from June 28th to July 4th.

It was 1971 when professional golf made its way to Broome County, and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of golf in our community, Dick’s Sporting Goods Open and UHS are holding a free celebration for the area’s families.

The Dick’s Sporting Goods Open begins with rounds of training on Monday June 28 and ends with trophy presentations on Sunday July 4, but more events are planned during the week including Sock Out Cancer Awareness Day and a country group concert Old Dominion but new this year will be a special Family Fun Night.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Open has teamed up with UHS for Family Fun Night, which will take place on Saturday 3rd July at En-joie Golf Course in Endicott on the 18th fairway.

The Family Fun Night is not only free, but also open to the public. Grab a blanket or lounge chair and get ready for a fun movie night with concessions and fireworks after the movie. The gates for the Family Fun Night will open at 7:30 p.m. and the film The Sandlot will start at 8:00 p.m. and will be screened on the Jumbotron.

Concessions will be available, and as Dick’s Sporting Goods Open celebrates 50 years of professional golf in Broome County, concession prices will be the same as they were 50 years ago in 1971. All concessions from pizza to popcorn, hot dogs to soda, except alcohol sold for $ 1.00.

Reservations for the Family Fun Night are not required and the gates are open to anyone who wishes to attend.
