FARMINGTON, Maine (AP) – Northern New England communities and organizations are receiving more than $ 300,000 in grants to help more people relax outdoors.
The money comes from the Northern Forest Destination Development Initiative, a project by the Northern Forest Center in partnership with the Northeastern Vermont Development Association and the Northeast Kingdom Collaborative.
The Northern Border Regional Commission also supports the effort. The money goes to groups like the High Peaks Alliance in Farmington, Maine, and the city of St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
