PROVIDENCE, RI (WPRI) – As summer temperatures return this week, many Providence residents will find much-needed relief.
From Tuesday, many of the city’s outdoor swimming pools are open during the season from Monday to Saturday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. until the end of August.
Only four of the city’s five pools will be open as the Davey Lopes Recreation Center Pool at 227 Dudley Street is currently under construction.
With the pool opening at a later date, the city is offering free, regular shuttles for Providence residents from the Davey Lopes Recreation Center to the McGrane Pool in the West End Recreation Center. Residents must fill out waiver forms and are asked to wear a mask while traveling on the shuttle.
The following are the pools that will open:
- McGrane Pool at the West End Recreation Center, 404 Dexter Street
- Al Magno Pool at Neutaconkanut Recreation Center, 675 Plainfield Street
